The spy that came under Christmas
About three to four days ago, my parents gave me bronze casino a book: a beautiful, universal cover that promises a posted below “From the author of international bestseller”, at the top above the name of the author, a screaming inscription: for the first time in Russian!”.
Frankly, I re -read a lot of books in my short century. Books are one of my passions. And I know that if it is written: “From the author of international bestsellers,” this does not mean that the book is good. I look at the name of the author – David Morrel. Something familiar. However, I will tell about the author later, and now I would like to tell you about this book. Let’s start-s
Christmas, a wonderful, fabulous time and the author, to add an effect, sends a hero to the city of Santa Fa which, by the way, translates from the Spanish “Holy Faith”, is romantic, true. The action takes place in America, who settled the Russian mafia – emigration. I will not reveal the plot, because then it will not be interesting to read the book if someone wants. I will say only one promising name – this is only a bait. This is not a cunning book about spies, this is not Splinter Cell. The bottom line is not. The book is good without it. That I didn’t like the book terribly in the book so again “evil Russians” and then I remembered someone-tank David Morrel. C. Rambo and Captain America. Probably David Morrel physically cannot live without us his birthmarks. By the way, the theme of Russians are sewn with white threads. Dernie, bursts. The author himself explains this: “Russians, unlike the American mafia, do not have a drop of nobility, so al-Qaeda uses them for their purposes. Russians are the same as at any moment the atomic bomb can fall. “. Perefras, but the essence is the same. Further, the author is trying to justify the evil Russians, but he does it reluctantly: “America, not the homeland of Russians, so they do not care”. However, that in vain to slander the author, heroes, (main) for example, turned out to be colorful. This applies not only to the good, but also to the Russian mafia, which seems to be bad. The plot is not twisted, but when the author throws you into the thick of events, for a while you just do not understand anything.
And now the strangest. I read the book, and then the word: bliatz. I’m in a stupor. No decryptions. I read on and find the answer to this question in another unfamiliar word: YEBANAT. TEPER everything fell into place. Apparently the translators did not want to translate outright matyuki. Okay, I read any questions, read further, word kachok pancake, well, but it has found it here? So this is not all, after this phrase, the mafiosi “gritted his teeth and turned pale” because – he was offended. Wow, they insulted abruptly, it means when he was called Hooesos, he did not creak with his teeth, and then it creaked! It also infuriates that the Russians call each other exclusively by name. Jacob is always called Jacob (and not Yashi and not Yashka). It’s like mafiosi, they sat in prison, they should have nicknames.
The book is not about spies, this bad fairy tale with a good end. It reminds, to be honestly old Christmas films, where Scrooge loses all his money, and then he understands that he was not much needed and then it becomes good and fluffy.
But the book is still good. The story with a baby, the magi-shpions, a sense of fabulousness, despite all the hardships, the book is truly atmospheric and it does not prevent it from being such even “evil Russians”.
